Review of 2018 !!!

Our first delivery of hybrids arrived at the beginning of February – The new year had started so plenty of people began buying chickens again either as a new keeper or extending their existing flock …

Then we had SNOW lots of snow – my own chickens thoroughly enjoyed their venture out into that white stuff!!!  And would you believe it I started to get a few more eggs.

March and the next delivery of hybrids arrived along with our first delivery of a week old hybrid chicks

In April – we did a talk at our local Horticultural Club (Ashford Horticultural Club) – which was very well attended and was the talking point around Ashford !!!

We also had our first delivery of Bearded Silkies, Pekins and Millefleurs – which were very popular and sold out extremely quickly.  We had another delivery in June.  We look forward to stocking the smaller hens again around the end of April 2019

Monday, 7 May 2018 we had a absolutely beautiful day for our annual Open day – and had a constant flow of customers new and old and friends through visit us throughout the day.

June and July – were very warm – so much so we had to really keep an eye on the girls as they were struggling in the heat so plenty of water was needed – plus a few ice lolly treats !!!!

Our highlight of the year was in October – when we won
SPELTHORNE MEANS BUSINESS – Independent Business of Year

It all started on the 31st August when we submitted our entry for the Spelthorne Means Business Awards. On the 12th September, we received an email to say we were one of the 3 shortlisted finalists in the Best Independent Business category – brilliant as this meant we were now invited to a black-tie awards’ dinner at the Orangery, Shepperton Studios on 11th October. A nice excuse to get our poss frocks and jackets out

We have now sold out of hens for 2018

We have sold just under 1,000 hens for 2018 plus chicks and about 100 pekins/silkies/wyandottes – not a bad year all in all

We start again in early February 2019

Wishing all our customers and viewers
a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
